Keyshia Cole’s Mother Frankie Gets Arrested AGAIN!
R&B singer Keyshia Cole’s mother Frankie is behind bars for failing a routine drug test. The “Celebrity Rehab” alumni tested positive for an illegal substance during a routine drug test at her parole officer’s office.

Frankie is set to see a judge today and could face up to 2 years in prison.

When is this woman going to learn?? Seriously, you are someone’s mother and grandmother.You really need to set a better example for your family.

Beyonce Hires 200 African Dancers For New Video
Beyonce reportedly flew 200 African dancers to Los Angeles over the weekend, according to Sister 2 Sister magazine. A source said the dancers will help her incorporate some of their native moves into her “Girl” music video.

A commenter on Beyonce’s fan site gave more details, saying:

“My friend got there and there were like 200 or more people in the room. A lot of Bey’s old dancers and probably every major dancer and choreographer you could think of. The song is called “Girl”. The video is being directed by Francis Lawrence. He was also there. 8 or 9 choreographers contributed to the routine. Danielle Polanco and Luam were 2 of those choreographers. Beyonce was there of course going over the routine and they were figuring out which pieces of the choreography they would be showcasing in the music video. The theme of “Girl” is like a female empowerment/girl power type of song that is a definite club banger with Top 40/Worldly appeal. The beat is driven by a sample of a popular club song that a lot of you will probably recognize. There’s a breakdown in the song that is described as absolutely fucking disgustingly sick! Definitely an anthem in the style of her singing. My friend couldn’t remember exact lyrics, but “Girl…girl….girl” is repeated a lot through out the song.

“More on the choreography. No males will be dancing except these 2 African men that do this sick solo African intro with footwork at the top of the routine. There may be more, but at the meeting today only those 2 men were dancing. One of the choreographers was an African guy from an African dance company. Bey will have an army of like 100 or more girls. 20 of them will be doing the choreography with her and there will be like 100 of them behind her carrying sticks and marching. Men will be used as props and actors with the girls coming all in their faces and intimidating them. Again, the concept wasn’t revealed so that’s just connecting the dots with the choreography and small information that was given. It definitely looks like Bey will have an army or lesion of girls for one of the scenes that is presumably being shot on the 13th. Expect a full out dance number with lots of choreography.”

Are You Suffering From “Frugal Fatigue?”

Are you feeling stressed about your inability to spend the way you want to? Are you losing the strength and energy to resist the urge to splurge?

According to a poll conducted by the National Foundation for Credit Counseling (NFCC), 66% of Americans are suffering from “frugal fatigue.” In a nutshell, people are sick and tired of the pressure of living below their means.

Can you blame them? For many, there is nothing readily desirable about creating a budget, examining your spending regularly and essentially cutting coupons and pinching pennies. It is unfortunate, however, that American’s see some of the fundamental principles for wealth creation as such a hassle. Living below ones means should not be a strategy that we pull out only to weather a recession. These principles should technically be our way of life. I’m not saying that we must create a lifestyle of deprivation, but I am saying that we exercise discipline in all circumstances, i.e. in and out of a recession.

I believe the number one issue is that people have been forced to live differently as opposed to having a mindset shift and realizing for themselves that their behavior needed modification. Despite how you “got in” on frugality, the question is now that you’ve been here, where do you go from here once the economy begins to look up? How do you live the life you want, but maintain the lessons you’ve learned?

Whether you are suffering from frugal fatigue or not, I suggest creating both a written and visual plan for your life in a place where you can access it daily. Whether you use a dream journal, vision board or any other method you can think of is totally up to you – the point is to just use SOMETHING! No matter how strong-willed you are, everyone has a moment here and there where they want to just give discipline the peace sign and do what they feel like doing – no matter how detrimental to their progress. But, when you keep the vision you have for your life at the forefront of your mind, it becomes much easier to control yourself and stay focused.

5 Dumb Things Smart People Do With Tax Refunds
Tax time: That interestingly peculiar time of year when ordinarily smart people begin to make really dumb financial decisions. Isn’t it amazing to watch what a little extra cash, okay well for some, maybe a lot of extra cash lining the pockets can do? The average tax refund for 2011 may be a little over $3000, but there has to be several thousand dumb things people are doing with the money at any given moment. I know your pockets are sizzling even as you read, so I’ll be brief and just give you 5 dumb things smart people do with tax refunds.


#1 – Act like its FREE money. The operative word in the term “tax refund” is REFUND! Common synonyms for refund are “repayment,” “reimbursement,” and just plain simply, “money back!” This means that tax refunds are not free money! The government is not giving you a bonus every year just to thank you for being an American. This is money that you’ve allowed them to “borrow” from you all year long. And now, unlike most of your friends or family members, they are actually paying you back. Never mind the fact that they are paying you back with NO interest even though you pay them back with interest on your student loans. . . . I mean, who’s keeping tabs, right?

While you were patriotically overpaying the government you could have been doing a dozen other things with the money YOU worked for, allowing your money to actually work for you. So, for heaven’s sake, please stop acting like April 15th (April 18th this year if you want to be technical) is a damn holiday. Let’s call it what it is: “Happy You Got Played By Overpaying the Government Day!”

#2 – Don’t budget it. The mindset that tax refunds are free money typically leads people who ordinarily utilize a budget, to leave refund money off the financial plan radar. Typically, by the time you think about budgeting it, it’s because you’re down to your last few hundred dollars and all of a sudden want to “be responsible” with it. The reality is tax money should be approached similarly to how you would approach your paychecks; after all, it’s nothing more than the money you really worked for all year long anyway. Even if you apply skewed percentages to determine how you disperse the money, just use some type of logical system! Just running through it and blowing it daily on insignificant and useless purchases is not the way to go. (Disclaimer: For those of you who never budget . . . consult someone who does. Your idea of logical may be a little questionable.)

#3 – Pay off too much debt. I know you’re thinking there is no such thing as “paying off too much debt.” But, in reality there is. If you use your refund to pay off debt, but don’t have an emergency/opportunity fund in place, you’re not really making progress. Let’s say you use the entire refund to pay off a credit card balance in April, but in May you have an emergency. Because you have no savings, what are you going to do? That’s right! You’re going to put that emergency expense on your credit card. By June you can end up right back in the scenario you were in before the refund came.

Instead, strategically pay down your debt. Definitely put a large chunk towards paying it down if you can, but leave at least $1000 to the side in an account that you can easily access, if necessary. (Note: This account does not mean in your checking account! I don’t have to tell you why that’s not going to be helpful!)

#4 – Save all the money. This is simply the reverse of #3. Don’t save the entire refund when you have high interest rate credit cards or even a small student loan balance that can be wiped out. Again, you should have a healthy balance in your personal finance efforts which allows you to save money and pay off debt simultaneously and systematically.

#5 – Make a down payment on something they can’t ordinarily afford. The burning sensation is too overwhelming. A feeling of prosperity and richness ensues and forces, I mean literally strong arms people into putting money down on a new car, boat, furniture, etc. Here’s the thing to remember: After that down payment, you’re still responsible for the pesky monthly payments that linger around far after. Even though you’re feeling good right now, remember that April 15th only comes around once a year. Make sure if you have plans on using your refund in this way, your monthly budget can handle the payments you are signing up for. If not, the “blessing” of tax money can quickly become a nightmare if you’re not careful. Use the refund to abolish your bills, not create new ones. And, as my friend and sister in the personal finance movement, Tiffany Fitzgerald at TiffTalks radio says, “Don’t create on-going debt with one time funds.”

Janet Jackson is about to make history in Paris. She will be the first female pop artist to perform under the I.M.Pei glass Pyramid at Paris’ famed Louvre Museum.

She will be giving a live show during the biannual fundraising event “Liaisons au Louvre.”

The President of the museum said, “Janet Jackson is one of the world’s greatest artistic treasures. Accordingly, we are profoundly honored, and believe it most fitting, that her performance in the Louvre Museum will be yet another masterpiece captured under our glorious glass Pyramid. I believe the evening with Janet Jackson will be a great ‘coup’ for our institution!”
